Punalur Social Service Society, with the collaboration of Kerala State Backward Community Development Co-operation (KSBCDC) provided Rs.50 Lakh to 114 SHG members. The objective of the scheme is to cater for the microfinance needs of small entrepreneurs belonging to the minority community. A loan up to Rs.6000/- per beneficiary is given under the scheme.
The inaugural function of the loan distribution was on 30/12/2022 at PSSS hall. The programme started @ 11:00 am with a prayer song. Mr Sunny V.O, Programme Co-ordinator of PSSS welcomed the guests and participants. Rev. Fr. Johnson Joseph, Director of PSSS, chaired the programme. Adv Mr K. Prasad Chairman of KSBCDC inaugurated the function. Felicitation speeches were delivered by Mrs Latha K.J, Manager KSBCDC Pathanapuram Taluk, Mr C.P Sunilchandran Sub. District industries officer Pathanapuram Taluk, Rev. Fr. Vineeth Benedict, Asst. Director of PSSS and Mrs Angel Mary representative of SHG. Mr Binu George Co-ordinator of PSSS, extended a vote of thanks to the participants and the programme came to an end by 1:30 pm.
